Perry Tuneberg, DDS
Dr. Perry K Tuneberg joined his father Dr. Richard Tuneberg’s practice in 1983. He graduated from Guilford High School and then graduated with honors from Drake University with a degree in biology. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University Dental School.
Dr. Tuneberg is a past president of the Illinois State Dental Society, and a former Trustee on the American Dental Association's Board of Trustees. Dr. Tuneberg also recently completed his service as Chairman of the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditationn (CODA), which is the U.S. Department of Education's recognized accrediting agency for all dental-related education programs in the United States. He is a recipient of the American Dental Association Presidential Citation for his efforts at the national level in expanding dental access for the underserved. Currently, Dr. Tuneberg serves as a dental board examiner, and works with a number of organizations providing donated dental services. His chief interests in dentistry are in the area of diagnosis, restorative, and implant dental care.
Dr. Tuneberg and his wife of 33 years, Dawn, have two children. In his spare time, he loves traveling and reading - especially about U.S. history and political science.
Kent Tuneberg, DMD
Dr. Kent Tuneberg was born and raised in Rockford; he represents the third generation of Tuneberg dentists providing oral health care in the area. He attended Rockford Christian High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Kent graduated Cum Laude from Augustana College with his bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in biochemistry. He went on to attend Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, from which he graduated in 2015 with a Degree of Dental Medicine Doctor (DMD).
Dr. Kent is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Winnebago County Dental Society.
Dr. Kent met his girlfriend, Alex, in dental school. Alex is currently in an oral surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Kent and Alex love spending time with their golden retriever, Chester. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing basketball, and watching the Chicago Cubs. Dr. Kent Tuneberg is excited to be back in Rockford and looks forward to serving this community for years to come.
Tsveta Vatcheva, DMD
Dr. Tsveta Vatcheva earned her Master of Science in Dentistry degree in 1998 from Plovdiv University in Bulgaria. She practiced general dentistry in Bulgaria until moving with her family to the United States in 2004. Dr. Vatcheva entered into a (PASS) Program at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2008 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD).
Dr. Vatcheva is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Winnebago County Dental Society. Dr. Vatcheva, while being a general dentist, has had extensive post-graduate training in Orthodontics. She has a special interest in delivering orthodontic services as part of her practice.
Dr. Vatcheva performs dental exams and dental treatment for United States Army Reserve and Army National Guard soldiers as part of the Reserve Health Readiness Program. She recently traveled to Germany and American Samoa to perform these services for soldiers abroad.
Michael Santucci, DDS
Dr Michael Santucci received his DDS from Northwestern University in 1974 and then completed a General Practice Residency at Veterans Administration Hospital in Chicago. In addition to being in private practice in Rockford with Dr. Tuneberg, Dr. Santucci is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), College of Dentistry. In 2016, the Dental Alumni Association of the UIC College of Dentistry presented Dr. Santucci with the prestigious Dr. E. Lloyd Du Brul Faculty Achievement Award for outstanding teaching and service to students.
Dr. Santucci has served as a President of the Winnebago County Dental Society, and as a Trustee for the Illinois State Dental Society.
Ashley O'Reilly, DMD
Dr. Ashley O'Reilly graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a bachelor's degree in Biology Medical Sciences and minors in Chemistry and Spanish. In 2015, she graduated Cum Laude with a DMD from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. O'Reilly also served as President of the SIU Chapter of Xsi Psi Phi dental fraternity.
Dr. O'Reilly is dedicated to helping her patients. She believes education is the key to maintaining proper oral health. Dr. O'Reilly especially enjoys treating children, and she has gained valuable experience providing pediatric care by completing three pediatric dentistry externships during dental school. Dr. O'Reilly is excited to practice at Dr. Perry K. Tuneberg, DDS & Associates and looks forward to becoming integrated into the Rockford community.
Dr. O'Reilly met her husband, Brad, while they were in dental school together at SIU. They both enjoy the outdoors, and spending time with their rescued black Labrador.
